Hepatic Epoxide Concentrations during Biotransformation of 1,2- and 1,4-Dichlorobenzenet al., 1971). Both 1,2-dichlorobenzene and its 1,4-isomer are metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes to an epoxide intermediate. This epoxide may either rearrange to produce phenols, hydrolyse to form dihydrodiols or conjugate with glutathione.
