Legal Aspects of Initial Teacher Education in England is not a reserved occupational term and may be used by anyone. The creation of new publicly funded schools that are specifically allowed to employ teachers with no training to national standards further emphasises the dilemma facing anyone trying to define the legal notion of teaching in England.
