Construction of Signals with Favorable Correlation Properties,lation value of “+1” indicates that the two phenomena are identical, a correlation value of “-1” means that they are diametrically opposite, and a correlation value of “0” means that they are “uncorrelated” — i.e. that they agree exactly as much as they disagree.

Although the role of non-abelian groups in algebraic combinatorics and finite geometry goes back at least to Dickson (.), genuinely non-abelian difference sets have only appeared in the last few years, see Liebler and Smith (.), Smith (.).

It begins with a discussion of binary .-sequences and uses the excellent autocorrelation properties of these sequences to motivate the study of finite fields.
