Electro Pneumatic Laboratory Pile Hammer,A method of computation of transient magnetic fields in three dimensions is described, which combines finite elements (of the “mixed” variety) and boundary integral methods. Emphasis is on the coupling, and on how the special nature of the finite elements is crucial in this respect.
