High-Resolution Patch-Clamp Techniques,rements of the amplitude and time course of currents arising from ensembles of many thousands of channels. With the patch clamp the transition rates between various conformational states of a channel and the current amplitude of each state can be measured directly for individual channels.

Conventional Voltage Clamping With Two Intracellular Microelectrodes,ne potential in that area using microelectrodes to monitor potential and to pass current. This technique was first used successfully by Takeuchi and Takeuchi (23) to record currents generated by acetylcholine at the motor end plate.
