Automatic Segmentation and Delineation of Intervertebral Discs on Lumbar Spine MR Images discs and their shape are usually the criteria for diagnosis. In this paper, an automatic method for segmentation and delineation of lumbar spine and intervertebral disc is presented. The method was tested in 18 MR images with 15 good/perfect results in the automatic identification of the spine.
