Formation of Anions in the Gas Phase,n-molecule chemistry must be employed. In this paper we summarize some of the methods which have been used in the flowing afterglow (FA) and ion cyclotron resonance (ICR) spectrometer for producing anions, particularly carbanions, for subsequent investigation of their chemical reactions.
