Bare Strange Quark Stars: Formation and Emissionfeatureless thermal spectrum is expected since no ion is above the quark surface, whilst electron cyclotron lines could appear in some bare strange stars with suitable magnetic fields. Various astrophysical implications of bare strange stars are discussed.

Wide Binaries in the Orion Nebula Clustersample with a high expectation of them being physical systems. We have identified 68 such pairs of stars with projected separations between 2000 and 33 000 astronomical units. The distribution of separations . seems to be Oepik-like, i.e. ..

Case B Binary Evolution Compared to Observed Algolsrge orbital periods. Liberal models yield better agreement between theory and observations. The best agreement is obtained when ≈ 50% of the mass lost by the primary is trapped into a ring with radius ≈2.5 × the semi major axis of the binary orbit.

GRB Opening Angle & Space Density Distribution Determined from the GRB Intensity Distribution11.7, suggesting that either the actual star formation rate should peak at significantly higher z than believed previously, or GRBs do not follow the star formation rate for z > 1. The existence of the lower-bound z = 0.28 ± 0.04 for GRB production indicates absence or a much lower rate of massive star formation at the present time.

Accretion Disk Oscillations and QPOs in X-Ray Binarieshe spin of the central object. Some observed properties of kilohertz QPOs in neutron star X-ray binaries and hundred-hertz QPOs in black hole X-ray binaries may be explained by these trapped non-damping oscillation modes.
