An adventure in software process improvement,del to understand and help manage project complexity. Having explicit technical and process roles improves students‘ learning and, while difficult to quantify, seems to effect the quality of the end-products in a substantive way. Teaching and applying quality improvement ideas is a vital part of preparing students for modern software technology.

Process self-assessment in an educational context, not deliver an integrated product. The team with a mixed approach followed the proper process and delivered an integrated product, but expended a tremendous amount of effort. The students were unanimous in acclaiming the learning benefits of having the process formally assessed.

,Teaching software project management by simulation — Experiences with a comprehensive model,rojects arose during the simulation. The project managers made many characteristic errors which led to plausible project distortions. The evolution of the simulated projects provided valuable feedback to teachers and students. This model is one result of our long-term project SESAM.
