Food Consumption and Food Activism in Italy,vism that centers principally on changing consumer practices. By highlighting how activism emerges from Italian food culture, I also hope to advance understanding of Italianicity, which is grounded in and expressed through foodways.

Introduction: Food, Foodways and Italianicity, is particularly the case for Italian cuisine, exposed as it has been to a variety of influences. Italianicity thereby appears as a contested terrain continuously re-framed in the cultural circuit of food, an everchanging myth made real in countless, multifaced practices of doing and saying.

Good Food and Nice People: Hospitality and the Construction of Quality Among the Italian Middle Clawith industrialism and corporate interests. Green, local food is appreciated both for its aesthetic and ethic prerogatives. Quality food becomes an aesthetic and ethic dispositive used to portray visions of personal as well as family wellbeing.
