Communication requirements in parallel crashworthiness simulation,d by a discussion of options to minimize overheads introduced by the need for global communication. Implementation issues will be specific to the portable message-passing interfaces PARMACS and PVM, together with future possibilities offered by the MPI standard.

Solving large-scale nonnormal eigenproblems in the aeronautical industry using parallel BLAS,genvalues and their associated eigenvectors. This method has been parallelized using BLAS kernels and has been tested on various vector and parallel machines..This work has been conducted at CERFACS in cooperation with the Aerospatiale Avions (Structural research and development department).

Supercomputing on a workstation cluster: A parallelized lattice-gas solver for transient navier-stowhich runs in parallel on a workstation-cluster, discuss simulation results and maximum CPU performances. Finally, we attempt to point out present problems and perspectives of these algorithms on virtual parallel machines.

Modelling hierarchy as guideline for parallel simulation,ning a given problem before solving it. Demonstrated results were gained in the field of logic and fault simulation of digital circuits; the parallel computer used is a transputer net with 40 nodes. The developed approach shows general strategies for a broad class of applications in discret event simulation.
