This approach brings together the combinatorial, computational and algebraic aspects of planarity notions and may serve as a uniform foundation for planarity, as suggested in the writings of Tutte and Wu.

Graph Drawing in the Cloud: Privately Visualizing Relational Data Using Small Working StorageWe study graph drawing in a cloud-computing context where data is stored externally and processed using a small local working storage.
