Most leaders aim for their actions to be communally and ethically oriented, notably through the notion of “doing good”. Few leaders have taken part in formal Leadership Development initiatives. Instead they develop through learning by doing, informal mentoring, and reading. Some, mostly men, have benefitted from having role models.
