Justification of Homogenized Models for Viscoplastic Bodies with Microstructurelastic material behavior that can be modeled by constitutive equations of monotone type with linear hardening terms. For technical reasons we are only able to prove the convergence result locally in time and for smooth data.

Ductile Crack Growth in Metallic Foamsiffuse cracking of cell walls in the course of (macro-) crack propagation. Parameter studies of the influence of cell wall material parameters on crack resistance curves under small scale yielding conditions are presented, including a comparison of the two- and three-dimensional models.

Differential-Algebraic Equations in Elasto-Viscoplasticitystructure of the nonlinear system in each time step is analysed and an alternative to the standard two-level Newton process is presented that requires the same derivative information as the consistent tangent operator. Simulation examples demonstrate the possible gain in accuracy and efficiency.

Damage and Failure of Ceramic Metal Composites: Experimental and Numerical Investigationserface debonding, in conjunction with crack branching at the interface is another failure mode. Experimental observations are compared with numerical calculations, leading to a theoretical description to predict the failure mode and the critical stresses in the composite.

Models and Experiments Describing Deformation, Roughness and Damage in Metal Forming for the GURSON model [13] is used, which is determined from the experiment. Results from specifically designed experiments illustrate the techniques discussed and demonstrate the application of deformation models. In addition, the feasibility of different experimental techniques to determine local strain is discussed.

Monotone Constitutive Equations in the Theory of the Inelastic Behaviour of Metals — A Summary of Rematerial under consideration is geometrically linear and the inelastic constitutive equation is of monotone type ([3]). At the end of this summary some classes containing nonmonotone models are presented..This contribution is mainly concerned with the dynamical problem. In the last section some remarks on the quasistatic case are given.
