Rosat Observations of Clusters of Galaxies,h photon yield in the survey like Virgo, Perseus, nad AWM7 are presented to illustrate the capabilities of ROSAT in galaxy cluster studies. In addition we discuss the prospects for detections of clusters of galaxies in the All Sky Survey and their possible implication for cosmological research.

The BBXRT results are in good agreement with simple cooling flow theory, in 3 cases confirm the existence of cold material in the cluster, find only shallow abundance gradients and constrain the mass profile in the central regions of the cluster.
