Is It Misrepair or Lack of Repair Which Kills Cells Irradiated in G2?,the presence of chromosome aberrations has been found to correlate with the loss of clonogenic ability (Dewey et al. 1971; Grote et al. 1981). These studies have been carried out using cells synchronized in G., or log-phase cells, i.e., a population made up mainly of cells in G.-or S-phase.

Biological Dosimetry of Absorbed Radiation Dose: Considerations of Low-Level Radiations, To date, several methods have been proposed for the chromosome-based dose assessment (IAEA 1986). However, in spite of the growing importance in the risk assessment, the dose-yield kinetics of chromosome aberrations and their implications for dose assessment are not well established in exposures to low-level radiation.
