An Overview of MMDS and LMDS, and the Technical Challenges in Receiver Designe standardization work carried out by the Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) project and the Digital Audiovisual Council (DAVIC). The basic transmit and receive functions are described, and the technical challenges in receiver design are discussed.

Iterated Soft-Decision Interference Cancellation for CDMArence scenarios. In this paper, it is shown how this detection scheme can be further improved by adaptive calculation of the soft-decision rule. This enables a significantly higher number of active users signaling within the same bandwidth to be detected, implying that spectral efficiency is increased.

Adaptive Multi-Carrier CDMA (MC-CDMA) Structure for Downlink PCSstem which has a special structure and requires less complex hardware at the receiver. The performance of this system is analyzed and simulation results are obtained for the AWGN channel and the Rayleigh fading channel with and without correlation between the subcarriers.

Combined Source-Channel Coding for Wireless Transmission of H.263 Coded Videouirement is that they must adequately protect the compressed information bitstream, according to the characteristics of the given channel, without excessive throttling of the source coding rate to accommodate the coding overheads.
