Circadian Variations of Hemodynamics and Stroke,(24, 31), increased platelet adhesiveness (8), and aggregation (1) may combine with hemodynamic factors to impair local blood flow. The key factor provoking cerebral infarct, however, is atherosclerosis of the extra- or intracranial arteries, its localization being the determinant for the final neurological deficit.
