Building on Bernstein: Legitimation Code Theory,its key concepts in a manner capable of, among other things, supporting the practice of teachers and students. Key concepts from the LCT dimensions of Specialization, Semantics, and Autonomy are reviewed alongside a selection of studies that have utilized them.

Turning to Educational Knowledge: Classification and Framing, well as some of the modalities of curriculum and pedagogy for which they can provide organizing principles. A selection of studies utilizing concepts developed during this period of Bernstein’s career is reviewed.
