Fatty Acid Oxidation and Lipid Breakdown, which are used for the production of ATP. Additionally, in plants, the β-oxidation of fatty acids can be used to provide acetyl-CoA for carbohydrate synthesis via the glyoxylate pathway (Chapter 11).
