We identify three components of Graphics System Quality: Data quality, image quality, and interaction quality. Hand-Gesture Recognition as a 3-D Input Technique,phors was compared directly to that of the space-ball. The results reveal that the precision of translations is slightly worse, the number of hits and the velocity of the Virtual squash-racket is slightly better, but the precision of rotations is supreme for video-based hand-gesture input.

The Virtual Treadmill: A Naturalistic Metaphor for Navigation in Immersive Virtual Environments,lves using a hand-held pointing device, such as a 3D mouse. The experiment suggests that the walking in place method may enhance the participant’s sense of presence, but that it is not advantageous with respect to the efficiency of navigation.

Generating Multiple Levels of Detail from Polygonal Geometry Models,point and polygons are reconstructed from these points. A static detail elision algorithm was implemented to prove the practicability of the method. This paper shows examples of approximations generated from different geometry models, pictures of scenes rendered by a detail elision algorithm and timings of the method at work.

Searching for Facial Expression by Genetic Algorithm,omponents of an arbitrary facial expression automatically where the expression may be input by a 3D measuring device or a 2D image. By using these components, we can construct more realistic facial expressions tailored to individual characteristics.
