Mix”-Mediated Vasoactive Responses and Evaluatd “SSNO. mix” solutions for rat intravenous administration, surgical preparation of jugular vein for drug administration, and preparation of carotid and tail arteries for recording of arterial pulse waveform (APW) at high resolution. It describes evaluation of ten hemodynamic parameters from APW and measurement of apparent pulse wave velocity.

Pharmacological Tools for the Study of H2S Contribution to Angiogenesis,or tissue homeostasis and repair such as angiogenesis. This chapter describes the tools and their use in a set of angiogenesis assays performed by using cultured endothelial cells in order to study the relevance of exogenous or endogenous H.S production and release during the occurrence of angiogenesis.

Vascular Effects of H2S-Donors: Fluorimetric Detection of H2S Generation and Ion Channel Activatione targets of H.S-induced vascular hyperpolarization. Coupled with this technique, a fluorimetric detection (by the use of WSP-1 dye) of H.S generation in human vascular smooth muscle cells after H.S-donor administration could confirm the ability of these molecules to evoke the hyperpolarizing effect through the H.S release.

In Vitro Measurement of H2S-Mediated Vasoactive Responses,eir interpretations in the context of the general knowledge are described. In the protocols the approach on how to study the vasoactive modulatory as well as direct action of H.S and mutual interaction of H.S with nitroso compounds, lipids, and endogenously produced NO is described.
