Shear Stress in AtherogenesisIn this paper, the nature of the shear environment in the large vessels, and the arguments that support a role for shear stress in atherogenesis, are discussed. The work that needs to be done to develop these arguments more rigorously and from a mechanistic point of view is summarized briefly.
