Toward the Prevention of Vein Graft Failureidely used as alternative conduits in CABG and have proven less susceptible to complications and failure, the saphenous vein will still be used in CABG in the foreseeable future. Nitric Oxide Axis in Cardiopulmonary Diseasetion is activation of guanalyl cyclase. It does this by interacting with the heme moiety of this enzyme; binding of nitric oxide causes a configurational change in the heme, which then activates guanalase cyclase to increase cGMP synthesis, which in turn leads to vascular relaxation..
