Altering and Analyzing Glucose Metabolism in Perfused Hearts of Transgenic Mice,se-deficient 6-phosphofructo-2-kinase/fructose-2,6-bisphosphatase (Mykd-PFK-2) show reduced glucose transport and reduced glycolysis when compared with control. The metabolites glucose-6-phosphate, fructose-6-phosphate, and glycogen were elevated, whereas fructose-1,6-bisphosphate was reduced in the transgenic Mykd-PFK-2 mouse hearts.
