A New Rare-Earth Impurity Model Exhibiting Mixed-Valence Behaviourl exhibits anomalous slow valence fluctuations in the inconfigurational fluctuation regime, which may be identified with the MV effect. A preliminary study of the model in MFT is presented, and some Kondo-like problems arising in a more exact treatment are briefly mentioned.
