For example, the book shows that particulate matter from local sources is transported from deserts to create air quality challenges. n plays a minor role and is not needed for the explanation of the effect. For this reason, the IQHE is observed in relatively dirty samples at temperatures . ? 5 K. On the other hand the FQHE is observed only in very clean samples at much lower temperatures . ? 1K where disorder plays a minor role.
