Low Interfacial Tension in Microemulsion SystemsWhen microemulsions are in equilibrium with other liquid phases, the interfacial tensions are very low. The relationship between these tensions and the structure of the microemulsions will be discussed.

Effect of Anionic Surfactants on the Partitioning of Nonionic Surfactants between Oil/Microemulsion/nd theoretically at high surfactant concentrations. In a first step, commercial ethoxylated octylphenols presenting the usual distribution of ethylene oxide units are investigated. Then their mixtures with alkylbenzene sulfonates are considered. Concentration and distribution of molecular species are measured by gas or liquid chromatography.

Theory of Shape Transitions in Microemulsionske polymers in solution. As the persistence length and the degree of polymerization depend on the concentration of dispersed phase, these cylindrical microemulsions should exhibit interesting concentration dependence for the radius of gyration and viscosity.

Viscosity of Microemulsion Versus SalinityNewtonian or slightly shear-thinning away from them; at higher surfactant concentration, a surfactant-rich birefringent phase appears which is strongly non-Newtonian. A major unmet challenge to the theory of microemulsions is to relate their observed rheological behavior to their fluid microstructures.
