The Researcher as Learning Partnerarning to help the teachers resolve the problems. In addition, I learned about the students through giving them short lessons with TBLT principles. This experience suggests that a teacher educator has to put the teachers’ concerns on top of the research agenda if we wish to be close to the reality.

Epilogueons to his two classes. At the time Xue laoshi was only trying to adapt to East Gate School. He kept telling me that everything he tried did not seem to work with his students though he was effective before he was transferred to East Gate a little longer than a year ago.

The Role of School Leadership in School Based TPD Programsent project, I found that the school administrators, particularly the principal, have an impact on teacher learning and development. This suggests that school leadership should be considered in teacher development programs for pedagogical innovation like TBLT.

Human Agency: The Capacity to Implement Curriculum Innovationopment programs for TBLT should give learning back to teachers by exploring and fostering their agency. Information-transmission in teacher education, like knowledge-transmission in traditional language teaching approaches, may not be as effective as we assume.
