Performance Evaluation of a Class of Gravity-Compensated Gear-Spring Planar Articulated Manipulatorsmpared. It shows that the perfect balancing approximation can achieve a satisfied performance as nearly same as that of the optimization approach, while it, on the other hand, enjoys a significant reduction of the computational effort for gravity compensation design.

Dynamic Analysis and Motion Simulation of the 3 DOFs Waist Mechanism for Humanoid Robotsism was formed and a motion simulation for several scenarios was performed. Based on the analysis of the results, it was concluded that the waist mechanism requires small driving torques and therefore less and cheaper actuators, which is an important advantage of this solution.
