Sliding plate and sliding cylinder rheometersfor the study of the effect of pressure on slip and rheological properties. The rheometers described here are thus of particular value for evaluating materials such as molten plastics, elastomers, concentrated polymer solutions, asphalts, bread doughs and other concentrated suspensions.

Computer-aided methods in rheometrythe optimum amount of information from the data without reading artefacts into the data (overfitting). This avoidance of overfitting is a major concern which should be addressed more widely (Winter, 1997) in order to utilize computer-aided methods to their fullest extent.
