Shock Waves in Accretion Disks,cess is transport by systems of global spiral shaped shock waves, proposed by Donner (1979), Michel (1984), Sawada et al. (1986), and Spruit (1987). Before discussing this in more detail, and in order to put it into perspective, I first review two other promising transport processes.
