Skin Development and Tissue Repair and Regeneration, germ layers of the blastodisc. The epidermis (including the oral mucosa), the majority of the skin appendages, and the nerves are all developed from the ectoderm. Tissues, such as dermis, subcutaneous tissue, blood vessels, lymphatic vessels, and muscles, are derived from the mesoderm.
