Animal Models in Behavioural Toxicology and Teratology important organ involved in behaviour, there are others, and one should regard the study of behaviour rather as a holistic approach to functional aspects of biology. In this respect, the problem of laboratory animal behaviour serving as model for human behaviour is an important one and has to be solved.

The Effects of Organophosphorous Compounds on the Central Nervous System of Ratsof intoxication are well known (Hayes 1982, Klaassen et al 1986). The electrophysiological changes of the central and peripheral nervous system produced by these compounds have been investigated only by a few authors (Hyde et al 1978; Solima et al 1982; Dési 1983).

The Effects of n-Hexane and its Metabolites on Erythrocyte and Synaptosome Membrane Acetylcholinestetransport through the membrane (Korpela and T?hti 1986). In the present study, the effect of n-hexane and its metabolites 2,5-hexanedione, 2-hexanol and 2-hexanone on membrane acetylcholinesterase (AChE) were studied.
