The Potential Well of Mn2+ in SrCl2ed well is very flat in the <111>, <100> and <110> directions, in agreement with experimental findings. A major improvement on previous work by van Winsum et al. is the complete absence of a polarization catastrophe in the potential energy calculations.

Ultrasonic Quantum Oscillations in Antimony in the Intermediate RegionThe Fermi Surface of antimony has been studied with oscillatory variation of longitudinal ultrasonic wave attenuation in the frequency range of 10–270 MHz at 4.2 K. Investigation of the angular dependence is as follows: q//x, H in y?z plane; q//z, H in x?y plane; q//x, H in x?z plane; q//x, H in x?y plane.

Luminescence and Resonant Raman Scattering in MnxCd1?xTe Mixed CrystalsThe photoluminescence of Mn.Cd.Te is studied for various Mn contents 0.05 ≤ x ≤ 0.5 at 2 K. The free exciton energy is observed to depend linearly on x. A broad band located at 16100 cm. is attributed to electronic transitions within Mn. ions.

X-Ray Studies of Point Defects in Rare Gas Solidss at least 7 different annealing stages can be separated. The first 5 stages with annealing temperatures up to 23 K are due to single defect recombination. The activation energy for uncorrelated single defect recombination was found to be w = 55 meV.

Electron Transport in Bismuth in Non-Quantising Magnetic Fields: Pseudo-Parabolic Modelvariety of complicated field dependences of the thermoelectric power in the intermediate field range, previously unexplained, follow the present analysis. Disagreements in strong fields set in at field values which coincide quite well with the quantum limits.
