Modeling Methodology of Flywheel Energy Storage System for Microgrid Applicationsy for FESS suitable for the microgrid is discussed in this paper using MATLAB-Simulink. The performance and utility of the FESS in smoothing out transients owing to the switch over of power sources are analyzed.

Effect of Flow Disturbers on the Performance of Sensible Energy Storage Device with flow disturber to without flow disturber is introduced, for a wholistic comparison. It was observed that the mean temperature and the PEP of the regenerator with flow disturbers were greater by a maximum of 1.6 and 2 times, respectively, than that without flow disturbers.
