Self-Reversed Emission Lines in Inhomogeneous Plasmasasma in the immediate environment of the radiator. The observed line contour outside the luminous source is the superposition of different line profiles corresponding to the radiation emitted in volume elements along a given optical path.

Emission Spectroscopyand electric fields, or waves excited in the plasma. This is certainly only possible to that extent that these parameters influence sufficiently the emitted electromagnetic radiation. For applications, on the other hand, one may simply be interested in the emitted spectrum of a specific discharge.
