Generation and Applications of Squeezed Light,ires the medium to be quantised and the treatment is consequently more involved. We shall also consider the case of nondegenerate parametric oscillation where it is possible to achieve intensity fluctuations below the shot-noise level in the difference of the signal and idler intensities.

Nonlinear Quantum Dissipative Systems,he region of an instability. Furthermore they allow us to consider the situation where the quantum noise is large and may no longer be treated as a perturbation. In this case, manifestly quantum mechanical states may be produced in a nonlinear dissipative system.
