Quantum Bits and Quantum Registersresented using the 8 corners of a three-dimensional cube. Some kind of weight is positioned at each corner of the cube. In this chapter shows how measuring one or more quantum bits cuts through the cube. A measurement of one quantum bit in the register returns two opposite faces with their vertices, edges and (changed) weights.

Photons as QubitsPhotons are imagined as particles flying at a certain angle (their polarization). This is enough physical background to describe the properties of quantum bits, and later to understand quantum entanglement and teleportation.

The First Experiment: IndependenceIn the first experiment, Alice and Bob are measuring photons that are indepentently generated. Their results also are independent. This is not suprising. But it shows the structure of the experiments.
