Experimental Study of High Temperature Superconductors through Substitutionte the role of a particular constituent of a superconductor. We will review the results of substitution for the Cu sites in YBa.Cu.O.. New results of cation substitution for the La and Cu sites in La.Sr.CuO. will be presented and discussed.

Electron Microscopic Studies of Oxygen Ordering Phenomena in YBa2Cu3O7-δlso along the c direction. Its spatial structure is described. The .structure is shown to be presumably due to deformation modulation rather than to oxygen ordering. The results are compared with the theoretical predictions based on an Ising model.
