Conceptualizing Drivers of Forest Loss, the methods used to assess forest loss and land-use change those using remote sensing data have been found to be accurate and cost-effective. Recent studies have often used landscape metrics in conjunction with satellite data to assess landscape fragmentation. This chapter briefly analyses recent trends in land use/land cover studies.
