Whitehead and Jonas: On Biological Organisms and Real Individuals conceived by Whitehead? This is a question which demands further critical discussion. It is a question not about the coherence of Whitehead’s system, but about its adequacy to our experience, to our good ontological, if not common, sense.

I do not doubt that already my assumption about the nature of philosophy is open to criticism from at least some philosophers, but I feel certain that it is not objectionable to Jonas.

Why should not health be defined as successful performance, sickness as malfunction and death as irreparable breakdown of performance?
