Acquired Enamel Integuments: Pellicle, Plaque, and Calculus,med in this manner has a relatively loose structure. On the other hand, the intake of foods with high sugar content induces the formation of thick and hard dental plaque with several bacterial layers. Well-developed, mature dental plaque eventually forms dental calculus by calcification.

Saliva,palatinal, buccal, labial, lingual (von Ebner’s), and retromolar glands. Minor salivary glands are located in the submucosa throughout the oral cavity and are named depending on their anatomical locations.
