Time optimal control of state constrained linear discrete systems, with the state constraints, and exploits their special nature to further reduce the storage requirements. The computational effort depends on the severity of the state constraints. A sixth order example is used to illustrate the proposed method.

On the optimal search for a moving target in discrete space,e search effort to be optimal will be determined in the following cases: a) when the probability of detection during a given time is to be maximized and b) when the expected search time is to be minimized. Finally, it is shown by an example that a uniformly optimal allocation does not always exist.
