Conclusion,online hate on social media. I argue that combatting hate should not be equated with restriction to the freedom of expression because hate speech is not free speech. To be effective in countering hate, we require a collective effort by many parties and should be done on three levels: content, community, and legislation.

Social Media Hate Against Female Journalists,2 unique users. The digital analysis results show that there are slight differences in the quantity of attacks on these journalists, but the qualitative assessment of images associated with the tweets indicates the need to use manual approaches to better understand the nuances and quality of these disinformation and often racist attacks.

Aside from the empirical examination, the chapter refers to the differences in Twitter’s and Instagram’s policies, for the latter does not allow using hashtags such as #f***Christians and #f***Muslims, unlike Twitter, which accepts all types of hashtags.
