Sensitivity Studies on the Role of the Ocean in Climate Change,lation to realistic boundary forcing will be made. Lagrangian and Eulerian Measurements of Ocean Transport Processes,le quantities and model parameters are discussed. The theoretical basis for ocean measurements of lateral advection, lateral eddy transport and diapycnal eddy transport are reviewed and the adequacy of the customary assumptions and approximations used to interpret observations are examined.

Studying Thermohaline Circulation in the Ocean by Means of Transient Tracer Data, water masses become apparent in tracer distributions. To extract the information contained in the distributions in a quantitative manner, 2 variety of modeling concepts can be applied. A specific challenge is verification and development of ocean general circulation models using tracer data.
