Introduction,terrestrial gamma-ray flashes (TGFs) and gamma-ray glows. These discoveries urge us to establish a new interdisciplinary field called “high-energy atmospheric physics”. This chapter briefly review key roles in the high-energy atmospheric physics, and the construction of this thesis.
