Epidemiology and Changing Demographics of Chronic Kidney Disease in the United States and Abroady recognized as a global public health problem; as many as 10–15% of the population worldwide is affected by CKD due to multiple causes. Globally, the prevalence of CKD increased by 87% between 1990 and 2016 to a total number of patients exceeding 275 million.
