The Role of Color Duplex Scanning in Diagnosing Diseases of the Aortic Arch Branches and Carotid ArExtracranial cerebrovascular disease is most commonly diagnosed at the carotid bifurcation/proximal internal carotid artery.While ultrasound is excellent at detecting the bifurcation lesion, it has been limited in its application to disease in other cerebrovascular segments.
