Densification Behaviour of Sialon Powders Derived from Aluminosilicate Minerals,nsification behaviour of these powders has been studied through the use of the hot-pressing technique. Information has been obtained regarding powder densification rates and product microstructure, and their relationships with the major materials variables of particle size and composition, and the type and level of liquid-forming additive.

Analysis of Coarsening and Densification Kinetics During the Heat Treatment of Nitrogen Ceramics,echnique has been developed which allows estimation of the relative rates of densification and coarsening (grain growth) in a sintering compact The results of applying the method to two silicon nitride powders are given and the possible benefits of the method discussed.
